Financial Aid

Welcome to the Student Financial Aid Office at Tennessee State University!  The mission of our office is to inform students and parents about the various types of financial assistance available and assist them in securing the necessary financial resources to reach their educational aspirations.  Financial Aid is designed to assist, not fully fund, your educational experiences.  Student and family resources are contributing factors in the determination of aid eligibility.  In the majority of cases, federal and state financial aid resources are not sufficient to meet a student's expected cost of attendance.  We are here to help.

Our offices are located in the Floyd-Payne Campus Center, Third Floor, Suite 343 for your convenience.

Campus Post Office Box  9615
Federal School Code: 003522

Questions regarding financial aid can be addressed to our financial aid counselors.  Click here to view a list of available staff members here to assist you.

Introduction

Financial aid can help you finance your studies at Tennessee State University. It is provided by private organizations, the federal and state governments, and universities. Financial aid is meant to supplement your family's ability to pay for college costs including tuition/fees, room and board, books, supplies, transportation, and other educational expenses.

You receive financial aid if you demonstrate financial need or some other standard of eligibility and meet the university's academic progress standards. You do this by submitting the required applications.
