TSU Book Group
Zora Neale Hurston's character Janie in Their Eyes Were Watching God proved to be an excellent topic for the TSU Book Group. Written in 1937, the situations have changed (we don't sit on porches much) but the problems are current.
The group decided on works for the rest of the academic year:
October 27 at 12:30 we are excited to announce that our choice is Dr. Bobby Lovett's work, The African-American History of Nashville, Tennessee, 1780-1930: Elites and Dilemmas.
November 24 at 12:30 Sue Monk Kidd's The Secret Life of Bees is our focus.
December 15th at 12:30 join us for the classic work, A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens.
We meet in the conference room of the Brown-Daniel Library. The entire TSU community is welcome to bring a brown bag lunch and join us!
