Interdisciplinary Studies Degree Program (Arts and Sciences)

Your Preparation for Life's Curves |
Welcome to the Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) Program website! We are so excited that you chose to visit us on the web. Interdisciplinary Studies is a general liberal arts degree that allows students to focus on one of three concentrations: humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, or elementary education. Our students make up 7% of the total undergraduate student body and 20% of the College of Arts and Sciences students.
As you take your academic journey, we hope to be a part of your travels. It is always good not to have to travel alone. We are the second largest undergraduate major in the university. With 505 majors* in the Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) Program, we like to think that we operate like a navigational system. You tell us where you want to go and we will help you get there. Graduating 35% of all College of Arts and Sciences undergraduate students and 14% of all TSU undergraduate graduates, we graduate more students than any other undergraduate degree program. Our program not only graduates students, we help our students enter medical, law, dental, and pharmacy schools across the country.
Begin your journey with IDS today. No matter what curves life has brought you or will bring you, know that we are here to assist you in navigating them. You bring the Vision and Commitment, and we will provide the Challenge and Opportunity. The choice is YOURS!
