Distance Education and Multimedia Services

 


Tennessee State University (TSU) offers a variety of courses via distance learning including both synchronous and asynchronous elements. TSU is affiliated with the Regents Online Degree Program (RODP) and offers baccalaureate degrees in both and Professional Studies concentrations in Organizational Leadership or Information Technology. Additionally, graduate degrees in Nursing, Edcation, Professional Studies, and Speech Pathology & Audiology are also conferred. The online element of distance delivery is offered through the Desire2Learn application via our eLearn@tnstate web portal. eLearn is a web based courseware application that may be accessible to any computer with an Internet connection.


Student Services for Distance Students

Distance students have access to an online bookstore for books and supplies, an online library containing e-books, online databases, and online documents posted by faculty. You will need your TSU Student ID to access the online library services. The Tennessee State University Testing Center is available to facilitate online testing requiring proctors and technical support is available for solution to eLearn related issues. Convenient registration and counseling services for distance students are offered through the Office of Student Support Services for Adult and Distance Learners.

Student Services for Regents Online Degree Program (RODP) Students


RODP students also have access to an online bookstore for books and supplies and an online library containing online databases and online documents posted by faculty. In addition, they may make use of the RODP Virtual Student Union, Virtual Career Center, and Virtual Tutoring.  The TSU Testing Center is available to facilitate online testing for RODP students requiring proctors and technical support is available for solutions to RODP's eLearn issues. Convenient admission, registration, and counseling services for distance students are offered through the Office of Student Support Services for Adult and Distance Learners


Multimedia Services for Faculty and Staff
The Office of Distance Education and Multimedia Services is housed at the Avon Williams Campus in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. This department is responsible for faculty/staff support and training. This office also administers the online course content for eLearn, handles technology-based solutions for the on-campus classrooms as well as the virtual classroom, and performs various other duties associated with distance learning, technology, and training.
