We began a new partnership program this year to assist incoming students with their transition into the Southeast United States, Nashville and Tennessee State University.  The First Friends Program allows incoming students to choose up to three partners. The Regional Peer is a current student from your region of the world.  The academic peer is a student from your academic department.  The Community Partner is someone from the Nashville area but is not a host family.  If you are interested in this program, please complete the application using the following link:

We look forward to having you at Tennessee State University and want to make your transition as easy as possible.  If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

2018 Study Abroad Program for Students

As we now live in a global society, intercultural experiences have become a vital part of the student’s professional and personal development. These experiences will increase their global awareness, simulate scholarly inquiry and make them more competitive in today’s global marketplace. Below are the actions for students to begin their 2014 study abroad experience:

Step 1 :

Select the Country, Program, and Course for a study abroad experience.   Click on these links: ,, and View Countries, Programs, and Course offerings provided by The Tennessee Consortium for International Studies (TnCIS) and other programs.

Step 2:

Complete and submit an application for the program selected in Step 1.

Step 3:

Complete and submit an application for a Study Abroad Grant. This grant could provide up to 50% of the program cost.
