extension agentThe Agricultural and Extension Education concentration is designed to meet the requirements of a secondary professional certificate that qualifies graduates to teach Agriculture/Agriculture Science in public schools. It also prepares students for careers in private and public agricultural service agencies, self-employment, as well as graduate studies.

 

What Career Can I Expect With a Degree in Agricultural and Extension Education?

Agricultural and Extension Education is designed to prepare students to become:

  • teachers of agriculture,
  • extension agents,
  • graduate studies in Agricultural Education
  • and other professional areas that require a broad knowledge of agriculture.

It focuses attention upon the development of leadership skills needed for planning and achieving long range goals and objectives, including improved agricultural production, conservation of natural resources, and provision of educational programs for personal, family and community development.
