So a little about me, well I have been the Technical Theater Manager or "TD" at TSU for 6 years. I have designed and built all of the sets and lighting for the Department of Communications productions and the Music Departments Opera.

I have a BFA in Technical Theater at the University of Toledo, graduated in 1984 with an emphasis in Lighting and Sound.

I have been doing professional theater across the world with some of the best known theaters and companies since 1984; such as:

Then I got burned out. Hey it happens so I took a break for a few years and taught technical theater at Colgate University.

Academia was getting a bit too restrictive so I returned to the professional world and became the Lighting Designer for Opryland Productions at Gaylord Entertainment where I designed lights for many of Country Music's biggest stars such as:

  • Johnny Cash
  • Trisha Yearwood
  • Lorrie Morgan
  • Faith Hill
  • Tanya Tucker
  • And Garth Brooks

are some of the over 60 stars I designed lights for.  I was also responsible for every show in the park from the summer, to the great haunted houses and the Christmas shows.

While with Gaylord, I had the extreme pleasure to design lighting for several cruise ships in the Celebrity and Royal Caribbean Cruise line fleets.  I got to meet Dick Clark and did a show with him on a production of American Bandstand Classics at the Roy Acuff Theater. I also got to do a special event at the MPI natioonal convention at the Opryland Hotel with many of the artists with the world famous Cirque du Soleil company.

Yep I have toured too.  I had the opportunity to be the Lighting Designer for the national tour of "Always Patsy Cline" with the Randy Johnson Company.

Before joining the Department as an adjunct faculty member I was a

I am a member of the TTA and USITT.  For my design for the Tennessee Bicentennial in 1996 I received a Certificate of Merit from Governor Sundquist.
