Scholarship Opportunities

The college currently has the following scholarship opportunities application close date  August 31st, 2021.

The College of Engineering Scholarship Application is a general application that allows students to be considered for any available scholarships that the College of Engineering is responsible for awarding.  All applications will be considered for the scholarships of which the applicant is eligible.  Students awarded a scholarship will have to agree to fulfill the requirements of the scholarship to which they are awarded.  These requirements will be specified before the scholarship is awarded to the chosen scholar via award letter.  Inability to uphold your requirements as a scholarship recipient in the College of Engineering will eliminate you from consideration of future scholarships from the College. 

Application Deadline for Fall 2021 Consideration: August 31th, 2021 11:59pm cst.
Application Deadline for Spring 2022 Consideration: January 7th, 2022 11:59pm cst.
Application Deadline for Summer 2022 Consideration: May 15th, 2022 11:59pm cst.

2.        USDA_NCRS Scholars Application (Apply Here:   https://tnstateu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cJbAqQLAGpgWCfY  )

The USDA_NRCS grant is provided to engage engineering students in soil and water conservation and management.  The USDA_NCRS Scholarship requires scholars commit to being available every Friday morning, time TBD, for two semesters. Maximum award is $5000/semester and the amount is determined by the need and is non-refundable.  Students are not guaranteed funding in the spring semester, funding is dependent on performance in the Fall semester. 

Fall applications are due by August 31th, 2021 by 11:59pm cst.  
Spring applications are due by January 7th, 2022 by 11:59pm cst. (Based on Scholarship Availability)   

Scholarship Criteria

  • Registered for a minimum of 15 credit hours in semester of scholarship
  • G.P.A. 3.0 or higher
  • College of Engineering Undergraduate Student

(Only for Rising Junior Civil Engineering Students at TSU $2500)

  3. 1-Page Essay describing your interest in working in the transportation industry 
  4. Letter of Recommendation from faculty, staff, or industry person specifying how long they have known you, validating your interest in transportation and why you are deserving of this scholarship.
