Ms. Spurlock began her career at Tennessee State University October of 1994 that was intended to be a 1 year temporary assignment in the Department of Education. In July of 1995 Ms. Spurlock was transferred to Student Affairs working with Disabled Student Services. In 2001, she became the secretary for the Department of Communications and she has been serving the students, faculty and staff with grace and kindness ever since. She also serves on the University Staff Senate helping to coordinate meetings and events. Away from campus, Ms. Spurlock loves to spend quality time with her 8 year old granddaughter MaKayla Patton - Spurlock.
