Eric Franzen received his MFA in Production Design (costume design) at Michigan State University And B.A. in Communications Studies and Theatre from South Dakota State. Eric is Assistant Professor of costume design, tenure track at TSU and has enjoyed more than 10 years working in the theatre industry. Eric has designed for regional theaters in Kentucky and Chicago and toured the world as a wardrobe supervisor for Norwegian Cruise Lines for shows such as: Rock of Ages, Legally Blonde, and Priscilla Queen of the desert.

At Tennessee State University, Professor Franzen specializes in areas of costume design and stage make up, costume construction, and costume crafts. Professor Franzen has also designed and built some of the sets that have graced our mainstage.
