Tuition & Fees for Fall 2021

Tuition and Fees are updated each academic schoolyear

The University's tuition and fee schedules are determined by the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) and the University's Governing Board.  The publication of each year's fee structure occurs at the start of the State's fiscal year (the July preceding the Fall Term).  Prior to publication, you may estimate an additional 2-5% for the upcoming Fall/Spring Terms.

Costs & Tuition Payments*

Students are permitted to register for subsequent terms, obtain grades/transcripts, and receive the hard-copy degree when all accounts balances are paid. A student is officially enrolled when the Term's tuition and fees are paid in full or covered by approved third party funding.

2021-2022 Tuition & Fees:

UPDATED: Estimate Your Costs!
The individual Fee Schedules do not give a complete picture of the overall costs of tuition and fees.  A  First-Year Worksheet  is included in the respective UNDERGRADUATE and GRADUATE material above.  The Worksheet is designed to focus your attention on how the University constructs a single term balance using the  components of your tuition, fees, housing and meal charges.

The same constructs are used throughout your Undergraduate and Graduate studies at the University. Given the timing of the release of each year’s charges, future year projections can be made by adding an additional 5% to each total.

Scholar Rate & 250 Mile Radius Review    The Office of Enrollment Management is responsible for determining application of the Scholar Rate, Scholar Rate Plus and the 250 Mile Radius reduced Out-of-State tuition rates.  Email contact for this Office is  EnrollmentMgt@tnstate.edu.

The Scholar Rate and 250 Mile Radius Tuition Fee Schedules are included in the respective UNDERGRADUATE and GRADUATE material above.  Under certain circumstances, students can request a modified application of the rules by submitting at Reduced Rate Tuition Appeal Form to the TSU Office of Enrollment Management: EnrollmentMgt@tnstate.edu.
