Psychology Degree Programs

ACCREDITATION

The doctoral concentration in Counseling Psychology is accredited by the American Psychological Association [APA; Commission on Accreditation, 750 First Street, NE, Washington, DC, 20002-4242, 202-336-5979] and is a designated Doctoral Program in Psychology of the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB) and the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. Questions related to the program's accredited status should be directed to APA's Commission on Accreditation (CoA); standards can be found here.

The M.S. and Post-M.S. Programs in Professional School Counseling are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Education Preparation (CAEP). 

Non-accreditable programs, including the B.S. and M.S. in Psychology - Counseling Psychology, are reviewed by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) Academic Audit.

*** NOTE: 2020-2021 Applications for MS and PhD programs in the Department of Psychology are NOT requiring standardized tests due to COVID-19.
