Executive MBA

The Executive MBA is designed to better accommodate the needs of busy professionals. The 12-month program offers a convenient, business-friendly schedule with classes meeting on weekends and is delivered in a hybrid format consisting of a mix of in-person and online course offerings. Program participants also have the opportunity to spend 10 days studying outside the United States to broaden their understanding of global leadership.

The EMBA is designed for aspiring professionals with demonstrated commitment to excellence and who seek higher responsibilities in business leadership.

The EMBA provides the same foundation and rigor as our traditional MBA degree with the added bonus of providing a fast track to improved on-the-job performance and the rewards that come with success.

The EMBA consists of 36 credit hours to be completed in 12 months.

Course Structure

The fast-track, Executive MBA features convenient scheduling, distance learning, and Web-supported courses. The required courses will be a short four weeks (see course scheduling below).

  • Students will be required to complete a residency whereby the 1st weekend of classes for each module will be delivered in a face-to-face format.  Classes will be held at a Nashville Hotel from 2 p.m. til 6 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. til 4 p.m. on Saturday.  During the weekend residency, guest speakers and presentations by renowned industry executives will facilitate class instruction and discussion to enhance the learning experience. The 2nd through 4th weekend of classes for each module will be delivered online and via a hybrid model.  The third weekend will have a Saturday morning live lecture via web technology.
  • Summer 1 and 2: The first week of Summer 1 and Summer 2 will be a face-to-face classroom experience, with the remainder of the classes online.

Global Immersion Experience

As part of the Global Residency course offered during the summer, program participants have the opportunity to spend 10 days studying outside the United States to broaden their understanding of leadership in an emerging economy and to experience firsthand the business practices and cultures of a foreign country. The 10-day residency includes class sessions conducted by renowned faculty, visits to multinational corporations, and a host of leadership speakers and cultural immersion excursions.

Cohort Group

Students will move through the Executive MBA curriculum together with a set schedule of courses.

Sequential Model of Instruction

Students will be exposed to a sequential model where they are taking one course at a time with the exception of Summer 1 and Summer 2 when students will be taking 2 courses concurrently during each session.
