The HCA/TSU Scholars program was established to provide scholarships to five (5) Tennessee State University first-time freshman students planning to major in Health Care Administration, Health Information Technology, Public Health, or Health Science in the College of Health Sciences.

The HCA Scholars program is a fully curated academic academy in which students are partnered with a College of Health Sciences faculty scholar and an HCA professional.  The HCA/TSU Scholars scholarship is renewable for up to four years as long as the recipient is making satisfactory progress toward the degree and meets eligibility and participation requirements.

When combined with the Tennessee Hope Scholarship, the HCA Scholars program provides full funding for on-campus (in-state) tuition and fees, on-campus housing and dining, a stipend for textbooks and supplies, and a laptop. (a package value ~ $18,000) 

To be considered, high school seniors must apply for admission to Tennessee State University.  An essay (1,000 - word minimum) on why you are pursuing a career in Health Care Administration, Health Information Technology, Public Health, or Health Science and what you hope to accomplish in your career is required.

First-Year Student Guidelines (minimum eligibility criteria)
HS Grade Point Average (GPA): 3.25 or above
ACT: 23 or above, or
SAT: 1130 or above

The HCA/TSU Scholars scholarships are highly competitive, are merit-based, and are awarded without regard to financial need, and will be awarded on the basis of outstanding academic achievement and leadership in school and community activities.
