Bio Education Courses Taught Publications and Awards

Nelson C. Modeste, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Economics and Finance in the College of Business at Tennessee State University. Nelson Modeste received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Florida in Gainesville Florida. Nelson currently teaches courses in Business statistics, intermediate macroeconomic theory, and principles of economics. In addition, he has published articles in refereed journals such as the Journal of Money Credit and Banking, the Journal of Developing Areas, the Journal of Economics and Finance, the Review of Black Political Economy, Economia Internazionale, International Journal of Accounting Information Science and Leadership, and Rivista Internazionale De Scienze Economiche E Commerciali. His research topics have focused on issues related to macroeconomic theory, international trade, and economic development. Dr. Modeste has also served as the Chairperson for the Board of Directors at the Bureau of Statistics in Guyana and as a member of the Board of Directors at the country's central bank, which is known as the Bank of Guyana.
