Alyssa Green

Class of 2019 | College of Liberal Arts| Criminal Justice

student on campus

It is quite difficult to shake this Honors student’s confidence. Right off the bat, she states that she knows that she is a successful student who is also “an over-achiever, ready to learn, engaged, focused, open-minded, and intelligent…”  Alyssa is from the south-east region of Wisconsin, in the small town of Milwaukee.  Upon graduation, she has plans of entering the police academy and becoming a homicide detective after a graduating.  She also shares that it is a possibility she will serve in the U.S Army after building up her credentials.  She says that the best part of her Tennessee State University experience is “Being involved more on campus, and meeting new people from all over the world”.  She also shares that this has made her more focused and allowed her to understand the significance of her studies.

Outside of being a respectable Honors’ student, she takes on other opportunities as they are available.  She takes even takes classes throughout the spring and summer to keep her mind fresh and open to learning more.  In the summer of 2018, she will be doing her first internship with Thompson Hotel: Securitas.  Adjusting to the larger crowd and family-oriented culture at TSU, has been a bit of a challenge for her.  However, she has grown close to many of the staff and student body.  This young lady works hard and inspires those around her to as well.  She lives by the quote “learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.”
