First-Year Advising

Welcome to TSU!

Your first year at TSU is going to be a mix of what you thought and did not think of before starting college. We won't leave you alone to figure it out. Instead, we will be your first link of community and support.

The Academic Success Center (ASC) supports first-year freshmen through advisement, tutoring, and learning support. Before you step on campus or attend a class, we connect with you through Access Success to help you put faces with names, understand your fall schedule, and learn about academic services that will impact your academic progress.

As of November 1, 2021, all freshmen are advised by the Division of Enrollment Management. For more details, email to identify your new advisor. You may also email Mr. Terrence Izzard or Ms. Tasha Andrews for more information regarding your advisement needs.

The ASC Advisement fall guides and resources page will remain active this term for additional assistance as you navigate your first year at TSU.

Failure to do so will delay or prevent you from registering for classes.

Preparing and Supporting Your Tiger

When families are empowered with the knowledge to help their scholars, students feel supported and become more engaged. Our Parent-Family Guides will help you understand how to support your student's academic progress from the summer through the first semester at TSU.
