Tennessee State University is an active participant in the development of rural communities. Through the USDA and our development of various seminars we have galvanized the economies of rural communities. We hope to bridge the economical, social and technological and provide a better way of life for the citizens of these communities.

The American Dream of owning a business and providing a better way of life for ones family has forever resonated deeply within the fabric of our great country. However, this dream has eluded many of our citizens that live in rural areas that have economies that are stagnant.
The USDA Rural Business Development Entrepreneurship Program is an Alliance between the USDA and Twelve of the 1890 Universities. This effort will galvanize economic growth, harbor the attitude of entrepreneurship and create a suitable technological infrastructure that will keep pace with the rest of the world.
Tennessee State University is a proud member of this alliance and has taken initiative to develop our local economy as well as the economies of the seven states surrounding Tennessee. By developing seminars to educate individuals of homeownership, business development and technological assistance, we hope to create a better way of living for our national community.
