Destination TSU

SUMMER 2013 SESSIONS & DATES

Destination TSU is the new student orientation program for new students entering the university. New students will have an opportunity to complete financial aid, testing, advisement, and registration for enrollment in the Fall 2013 semester.

DIAGNOSTIC TESTS & COMPASS PLACEMENT TEST

Diagnostic Tests

Diagnostic Testing will identify the level of learning support provided to the student. The Reading Diagnostic Test will be administered during Destination TSU for all participating students who have this requirement. Students who are required to take the Math Diagnostic Test and/or the Writing Diagnostic Test will have individual appointments to take these tests during Freshman Welcome Week and will be notified of these appointments during the academic advisement session during Destination TSU.

ACT/SAT scores are used to determine if first-time freshmen will require Diagnostic Testing:

• The Math Diagnostic Test is required for ACT Math score of 18 or less, SAT Math score less than 460, or COMPASS Algebra score of 37 or less.
• The Reading Diagnostic Test is required for ACT Reading score of 18 or less, SAT Critical Reading less than 460, or COMPASS Reading score of 82 or less.
• The Writing Diagnostic Test is required for ACT English score of 17 or less, SAT Critical Reading less than 450, or COMPASS Writing score of 76 or less.

COMPASS Placement Test

First-time freshmen over age 21 without valid ACT/SAT scores (no more than three years old) must complete the COMPASS placement test.　 Students who were over 21 when admitted to TSU should schedule an appointment with the Testing Center to take the COMPASS placement test prior to attending Destination TSU.

ONLINE REGISTRATION & FEES

Online Registration

Freshmen and guests must complete the Destination TSU online registration and make payment of registration fees online by the registration deadline in order to save seats in Destination TSU.　

Prior to registering to attend a session, freshmen must:

     1.   be an admitted student to TSU for the Fall 2013 semester
     2.   submit all Immunization &  Health Records to Student Health Services

Failure to submit Immunization & Health Records prior to attending Destination TSU will prohibit students from completing course registration.  For more information about immunization requirements, contact Student Health Services at (615) 963-5291.

To complete the online registration, you will need your T number (student identification number) which is located on your acceptance letter or can be retrieved on myTSU.

Registration Fees

             Student Registration Fee                                                  $50.00 per student

            Parent/Family Member/Guest Registration Fee                    $25.00 per person

* Registration fees cover materials, meals, and program costs.

Freshmen are not guaranteed a space in a session.  Space in each session is limited.  Once student capacity is reached for a session, it will be closed.  In order to be confirmed for your session of choice, it is imperative to complete the online registration and pay registration fees prior to the registration deadlines.  There is no on-site registration for Destination TSU.　

Confirmation of registration will be sent via email.  Students must receive a confirmation email stating that they have reservation for a session.

Children under age 12 are not permitted.

All parents, family members, and/or guests must be registered to attend Destination TSU.

Refund Policy

Destination TSU registration fees are non-refundable.
