TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
This nation, sometimes called the Land of the Hummingbirds, is composed of several islands in the Caribbean Sea. Originally the home of the Arawaks, it was variously a Spanish, Dutch, French and British colony. It has been a fully independent country since 1962.
Trinidad is famous for its food, a product of the many different cultures that residents of the British Empire brought with them as the resettled in Trinidad. People from all over the world go to celebrate Carnival there. It is however, a modern and well-developed country with universal and free educaton, good infrastructure and a lively and distinguished culture. In addition to its strong influence on modern music and dance, it is also the home of two Nobel Prize winners for literature.
Eric Klein, the 2012 Faculty Outstanding MBA award winner, is back in Afghanistan as a training advisor.
