Black Literature Criticism. Detroit: Gale Research Company. 1992. Three-volume set featuring Black writers from the last two hundred years. In addition, there is a supplement featuring black writers who became prominent after Black Literature Criticism was published.

Classical and Medieval Literature Criticism. Detroit: Gale Research Company. 1988 ­ Multi-volume set    featuring critiques of world authors from antiquity through 1399. Examples of authors featured in this series include Dante, Homer, Vergil, and Plato. Also included for each entry is a biographical sketch for each writer, and a bibliography of suggested resources for further research.

Contemporary Authors. Detroit: Gale Research Company. 1962 ­ Multi-volume set containing authors' vital statistics (birth and death dates); essays giving various types of information such as influences on author's writing, interviews, etc.

Contemporary Authors Cumulative index. Detroit: Gale Research Company. 1999. Provides references to entries in various works in the Gale Research Series, Classical and Medieval Literature Criticism and Shakespearean Criticism.

Contemporary Literary Criticism.  Detroit: Gale Research Company. 1975­A multi-volume set containing biographical sketches of various authors; living or who died after December 31, 1959 along with brief essays and critiques about author's works. Also includes bibliographical references for sources where the critical essays may be found. In addition, at the end of each entry, there is a list of references for further reading and study.

Dictionary of Literary Biography. Detroit: Gale Research Company. 1978 ­ A multi-volume set which contains vital statistics and biographical information concerning various authors, along with lists of major works; and references for further reading and study. Each volume concentrates on authors who were prominent during a specific period of time such as the Harlem Renaissance. Also included are photographs taken of excerpts of original manuscripts, title pages and other items.

Drama Criticism. Detroit: Gale Research Company. 1991 ­ A multi-volume set containing biographical sketches of each dramatist, lists of major works, author commentaries, overviews of major works, excerpts from critical essays and reviews, along with suggestions for further reading and study.

Nineteenth Century Literature Criticism. Detroit: Gale Research Company. 1981 ­ A multi-volume set containing excerpts from critiques of various writers including novelists, poets, playwrights, short story writers, and other genres, who lived between 1800 and 1900. Also included in each entry is a short biographical sketch, list of principal works, and a bibliography at the end of each entry.

Poetry Criticism. Detroit: Gale Research Company. 1991 ­ A multi-volume set containing biographical sketches for each poet featured, lists of major works, critical essays, authors' commentaries, interviews with poets, and suggestions for further reading and study.

Shakespearean Criticism. Detroit: Gale Research Company. 1984 ­ Multi-volume set featuring excerpts of critiques of Shakespeare's plays and poetry.

Short Story Criticism. Detroit: Gale Research Company. 1988 ­ A multi-volume set featuring excerpts from critiques of various short story writers; along with short biographical sketches included for each writer. Also included are bibliographical references for the sources where the critical essays are found. Finally, there is a list of references for further research.

Twentieth-Century Literary Criticism. Detroit: Gale Research Company. 1978 ­ Multi-volume set featuring prominent writers from different genres for the period 1900-1960; and who died on or before December 31, 1959. Included for each entry in these volumes are short biographical sketches, excerpts from critical essays, and a list of the author's major works.
