Artist Statement When I was a young boy,
instead of playing with GI Joes, I would draw my favorite TV heroes on
cardboard, cut them out, and use them as my toys. Now, some 35 years
later, I'm still fascinated with the lines and contours of the face. Every
time I start a new caricature, I feel the possibilities are endless.
Unlike straight portrait work, the art of caricature allows me to
manipulate and twist features however I choose, as long as the likeness of
my subject matter remains accurate. I've been asked if I'll ever move past
caricature into the "fine arts". I don't know what the future
holds, but for now, I see limitless possibilities in what I'm doing. If we
happen to be talking one day, and I'm staring at you with my head to one
side, don't be offended. I'm just examining your features in case you
should be my next subject. I hope you enjoy what you see.
