Join Us for COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY

GOALS

1.     Demonstrate one of our core values by engaging students in meaningful service to the community

2.     Engage first year students with upper division student leaders

3.     Engage first year students with faculty, staff, and alumni volunteers

4.     Build positive relationships in the community

5.     Demonstrate TSU’s commitment to “making our world better” starting right in our own back yard

6.  Have fun

 

DATE:   Saturday, August 25  (Friday evening from 7 – 8 PM will be the Orientation for Work Teams.)

 

OVERVIEW

7:30 AM          Begin set-up

Buses arrive 

All Project Leaders gather, review their work plans, touch base with their community liaisons by cell phone, confirm their bus assignments or walking map, ensure that water and snacks are loaded on buses or are available at work sites.

9:00 AM          All students and volunteers gather in Gentry Center.

9:30 AM          Buses depart for work sites and Local Neighborhood Teams walk to work sites.

10:00 AM        “Latecomers” team walks to worksite.

9:30 AM – 12:30 PM  Complete Work Projects

12:30 PM         Buses depart work sites and return to campus.

1 – 3 PM         Celebration with music, entertainment, and food
