| | | SUMMER SUCCESS 2009 | | | A TSU Academic Enrichment community outreach program, the Summer Success Institute, is a five-week program designed to enhance student skills in the areas of English, math, test taking and study skills. The Summer Success Institute provides high-school students with the tools necessary to improve their ACT/SAT scores or to successfully complete the initial test-taking attempt. For graduating high-school seniors who have been admitted to TSU for fall 2009, the Summer Success Institute offers an opportunity to fulfill study skills requirements prior to the fall semester. | | | Applications for this year's institute will be accepted through May 15, 2009. The non-refundable fee is only $30.00 (checks or money orders only, please) for the entire five week program. Summer Success Institute registration and orientation will be held on May 26, 2009. Parents are invited to attend the orientation session. For more information, tour this website or call (615) 963-5531 or 963-5564. |
| A Message from the Director of AEAO | | | The faculty and staff of Academic Enrichment Developmental Studies Program welcome the participation of all eligible high-school and GED students. We hope that high-school seniors who have been admitted to TSU will take advantage of the opportunities this program offers them. They will be given the chance to strengthen their skills in reading, writing, and mathematics and to improve their chances for higher placement in these subjects. They will also be given the chance to fulfill their study skills requirement before they enter the University. GED recipients who have taken the ACT/SAT and have been admitted to the University may join the high-school seniors in the intensive five-week study mentioned above. For those GED recipients who have not taken the ACT/SAT, they may join high-school sophomores and juniors in preparing for the test. For sophomore and junior students, this program affords them an opportunity to strengthen their test-taking skills and to review subjects that will be addressed on the ACT/SAT in hopes of improving their scores. For all students involved, there is the opportunity to actually take classes on a university campus taught by university faculty and staff and to form relationships with these personnel which will prove invaluable when they enroll in the University. |
