Application Process
Applications are available on this web site. Please contact either Dr.Larry Snyder at 615.963.5950.or lsnyder@tnstate.edu or the OT Administrative Assistant at 615.963.5891 if you have any questions. Please leave your mailing address or e-mail address and we will be happy to mail you an application packet Applications for the Fall 2010 class needs to be received no later than February 15, 2010. Students who are being recommended to the graduate school will be notified May 1, 2010.
For those interested in our MOT program please review the following:
1. You will need to have taken the following prerequisite courses:
3 Psychology courses, (General, Abnormal, and Developmental)
2 Biology courses with labs, (Anatomy and Physiology preferred)
1 Statistics course
1 Medical Terminology course
1 Physics course with lab
1 Computer Literacy course
2. You will also have to take the GRE (score of 900 or above required).
3. A minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
4. Perform a minimum of 30 hours of observation, volunteer, or work with an occupational
therapist.
5. Evidence of leadership potential through participation in extracurricular activities
6. Applicants who do not meet the GPA or GRE standards, but who demonstrate strengths in
other areas, may be considered for conditional admission.
7. Provide 3 letters of recommendation
Please note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate's ability to sit for the NBCOT Board Exam and or to attain state licensure.
