Division of Research and Sponsored Programs Services Provided The Division of Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP) delivers value-added, "one-stop" support and management throughout the research process. In addition, RSP provides research leadership, information, and pre- and post-award services to encourage faculty and staff to engage in research. The RSP performs and assists with the following activities:
- locating potential funding sources;
- identifying and pursuing new research initiatives and opportunities across the University;
- coordinating federal, state, local, and institutional regulations relating to human subjects, animal care and use, biosafety, radiation safety, and research integrity;
- guiding faculty and staff through the grant/contract application process;
- routing proposals through administrative channels for approvals and endorsements;
- maintaining University award files and records;
- coordinating research partnerships, collaborative, and cooperative agreements;
- assisting in matters relating to patents, copyrights, publication agreements, licensing, technology transfer, and inventions;
- disseminating information on availability and deadlines on external funding opportunities in research;
- administering research grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements;
- pre-auditing restricted costs;
- tracking equipment purchased under federal grants and contracts; and
- preparing reports on grants, contracts and cooperative agreements.
