Program Overview

In addition to the IAgER scientists at the McMinnville Nursery Crop Research Center, scientists from the United States Department of Agriculture/Agricultural Research Service (USDA/ARS) have performed research at the station since it opened in 1996. The present USDA/ARS staff consists of a research geneticist, a research horticulturist, two laboratory technicians, one part-time secretary, and three part-time field workers. These USDA/ARS scientists conduct research under the administration of the U.S. National Arboretum. The accomplishments of the ARS scientists at the Nursery Crop Research Center reflect the partnership between Tennessee State University and USDA/ARS in the area of nursery crop research.
