October 26, 2005

We have cloned two new chlorophyll a/b binding protein genes from Pachysandra terminalis using cDNA differential display, cDNA library screening and 5’-race PCR techniques. The deduced amino acid sequence alignment showed that the two new genes belong to LHCII type I and type II gene family. Real-time PCR was used to study the response to cold treatments at gene transcription level. Results showed that the 4C cold treatment can enhance transcription of these genes.
