Spring 2024 MEAL PLAN REQUEST/CHANGE
The last day to change your meal plan for Fall 2023 has now passed. However, you may change your Spring 2024 meal plan beginning November 1! Requests for changes must be received by December 29, 2023.

There are two options to submit your request.  1) Print out this form, complete it, and bring it to the Office of Residence Life to be processed.  We are located in the New Housing Facility Suite 1316,  or 2)  email the form to us at ResLife@tnstate.edu (preferred).  You can fill-out this form by hand, scan it, and email it to us or you can type into this form and save it, then email it to us.  Remember to save it if you are typing into the fields, before sending it to us. Visit the Bursar's webpage for meal plan fees, and other fees at /bursar.

TSU On-Campus Dining Services offers a meal plan for everyone. On-campus residents are required to have one of the meal plans listed below, but as your seniority and classification grows, so do your meal plan options. Campus dining is also available to off-campus and commuter students, so that you’ll never have to worry about carrying cash for a pre-exam pick-me-up!

Commuter Dollars $200.00
Refundable Declining Balance (Required for all classifications).
Any unused funds are credited to students’ account once they are no longer enrolled at the University. Once a student is on the Commuter Dollars plan, they will not be excused from the plan as long as they are enrolled as an undergraduate student.

All Meal Plan Agreements are subject to the conditions listed below:

  • All students choosing to reside in TSU facilities must possess a meal plan. Keep in mind that certain credit hour and residence conditions also apply. NOTE: Meal Plans are optional for the Summer term.
  • Meal Plans cannot be reduced or cancelled after the last day of late registration.
  • Students can add or increase meal plans at any time during the semester.
  • Meal plans will not be activated until a student shows that the funds on his or her account will cover the charges. The same policy applies to meal plan increases. 
  • There are no refunds on unused portions of the meal plan at the end of the semester, EXCEPT on the Refundable $200 commuter meal plan that are unused.  (see highlighted text below)
  • On-campus residents with 29 earned credit hours or less, regardless of age or residence facility, must be enrolled in the 7 Days Unlimited meals/semester + 300 dining dollars plan per University Policy.
  • On-campus students residing in the Residence Halls with 30 earned credit hours or more must be enrolled in at least the 5 Days Unlimited meals/semester + $400 dining dollars plan per University Policy.
  • On-campus students residing in Ford or NRC apartments must be enrolled in at least the 0 meals + 300 dining dollars plan; however, can enroll in any of the larger meal plans.
  • Commuter students can participate in any meal plan option; however, freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior commuters enrolled in 6+ credit hours are automatically on the Refundable $200 plan and can request a refund within 14 days after the end of the Academic Year if this plan is unused.

2023 - 2024 Meal Plans and Costs

  • Unlimited Meals 7 days/week + 300 Dining Dollars,  Meal Plan - $2,450 per semester
    • This plan offers you unlimited all-you-care-to-eat meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday thru Friday and brunch and dinner Saturday and Sunday) over the course of the semester in the main cafeteria, with $300 flexible dining dollars to be used at participating on-campus vendors.
    • This meal plan is Mandatory for All Freshmen (less than 30 earned credit hours) who choose to live on campus.
  • Unlimited Meals 5 days/week + 400 Dining Dollars, Meal Plan - $2,450 per semester
    • This plan offers you unlimited all-you-care-to-eat meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday thru Friday) over the course of the semester in the main cafeteria, with $400 flexible dining dollars to be used at participating on-campus vendors.
    • This is the minimum plan for Non-Freshmen (30+ earned credit hours) residing in the Residence Halls.
  • 150 Meals/semester + 900 Dining Dollars, Meal Plan-$2,375 per semester 
    • This plan offers you 150 all-you-care-to-eat meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday thru Friday and brunch and dinner Saturday and Sunday) over the course of the semester in the main cafeteria, with $900 flexible dining dollars to be used at participating on-campus vendors.
    • This plan is available to commuters not residing in student housing, students residing in (campus apartments,  House of God Dorms, hotel student housing), and Resident Assistants., and Juniors and Seniors residing in the New Housing Facility.
  • 100 Meals/semester + 300 Dining Dollars, Meal Plan - $1,325 per semester 
    • This meal plan offers 100 all-you-care-to-eat meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday thru Friday and brunch and dinner Saturday and Sunday ) over the course of the semester in the main cafeteria, with $300 flexible dining dollars to be used at participating on-campus vendors.
    • This plan is available to commuters not residing in student housing, students residing in (campus apartments,  House of God Dorms, hotel student housing), and Resident Assistants.
  • 50 Meals/semester + 300 Dining Dollars, Meal Plan - $875 per semester
    • This meal plan offers 50 all-you-care-to-eat meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday thru Friday and brunch and dinner Saturday and Sunday ) over the course of the semester in the main cafeteria, with $300 flexible dining dollars to be used at participating on-campus vendors.
    • This plan is NOT available to students residing in residence halls.  It is available to Commuter students, and students residing in (Campus Apartments and hotel student housing).
  • 0 Meals/semester + 300 Dining Dollars, Meal Plan - $300 per semester 
    • This plan offers no meals, with $300 flexible dining dollars to be used at participating on-campus vendors.
    • This meal plan is NOT available to students residing in the Residence Halls; however, is available to residents of the on-campus Apartments and Commuter students.
  • Commuter 200 Dining Dollars,  Refundable Meal Plan - $200 per semester (Commuters Only!)
    • This meal plan offers no meals, with $200 flexible dining dollars to be used at participating on-campus vendors.
    • This meal plan is NOT available to students residing on campus; however, is available to Commuter (reside off campus) students only.  Commuter students enrolled in 6+ credit hours, who are freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors are required to participate in this meal plan!
    • Once a commuter student is enrolled in the commuter plan they will remain enrolled in the plan the duration of their enrollment unless they move into one of the residence halls or apartments.
    • Requests for unused commuter funds can be requested in May after grades have been posted.  Requests made after the fall semester will be granted if the requester meet the following conditions:  A) has graduated and cleared the University with a student balance of zero.  B) Has properly withdrawn from the university and has no balance owed to the University.  C)  Has not enrolled in the university for the spring semester, registration is closed and the requester has a zero balance.

*Meal Plan Rates are subject to change every year on July 1st. Rates are set for the Academic Year (Fall-Spring) and Summer.
