NiJaia Bradley

Class of 2020 | College of Education | Early Childhood Education

Nicolas Horn

“God does not call the equipped, He equips the called”.  Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, NiJaia B. Bradley is a first-generation undergraduate student, pursing to become an Early Childhood educator.  “I never really thought I’d ever be interested in teaching, until I understood the blessing I received as a student” she says.  Ms. Bradley has overcome many obstacles through her academic journey, even prior to coming to Tennessee State.  Coming from a household with a single mother, an education on the collegiate level at a university was not a favorable suggestion.  Her family’s finances were not sufficient enough to send her to college.  However, by the grace of God, Ms. Bradley was able to be enrolled into TSU on an Academic scholarship in the summer of 2016, which opened her up to receiving two more scholarships to pay for her education in the following year.  She is able to maintain her 3.6 GPA at TSU while serving as a student leader for the campus ministry, as well as being a work-study employee of the Honors College.  After graduating and receiving her teacher’s certification, Ms. Bradley plans to attend graduate school to study children’s psychology.  In everything she does, she thanks God for paving the way and giving her the power to get there.
