Graduate & Professional School Fair |
|
|
The Graduate and
Professional School Fair is an annual event where graduate and
professional schools from around the country assemble on-campus to
recruit prospective students for their advanced degree programs.
Generally, 150 or more graduate and professional schools participate in
the GPS Fair. It is open to all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and
supporters of the University. The event takes place once a year during
the fall semester. |

Graduate School and Personal
Statement Workshops are designed to assist students in preparing for
graduate study and developing an effective personal statement for
graduate and professional school. The workshops are open to all
students. |

Princeton Review -TSU Test Preparation Center |
|
Princeton Review -TSU Test
Preparation Center is a unique service sponsored in partnership with the
Princeton Review, that provides test preparation courses for
standardized examinations that are required for admission into most
graduate or professional degree programs. The program includes courses
for the GMAT (Business), LSAT (Law), MCAT (Medicine), and GRE (Graduate
School) examinations. The courses are generally taught on-campus during
both the fall and spring semesters. The program is open to all students
and alumni. All TSU students and alumni receive a special discount off
of the published price for the Princeton Review.

Informational Forums |
|
|
Our Program sponsors
informational forums, in collaboration with various academic departments,
awareness programs in law, business, medicine, and graduate studies. The outreach forums
are designed to increase a student's awareness of academic opportunities for graduate and
professional study. The forums provide current information regarding admissions, financial
aid, summer research programs, and helpful hints for graduate school competition. The
forums are a public service and are open to all students, faculty, staff, and
alumni. |

Campus Visitation Programs |
|
|
Campus Visitation Programs
are designed to take students to various graduate and professional
schools to visit their campuses and review their graduate and
professional degree programs. Some of the schools that have invited TSU
to visit with them are the University of Cincinnati, University of
Missouri/Columbia, University of Florida, Ohio State University, Miami
University of Ohio, Central Michigan University, Ohio University,
University of Mississippi, and a few more. The graduate schools
determine the criteria for students to participate in the program.
Generally, the campus visits are limited to junior and senior-level
students and occur during both the fall and spring semesters. |

Graduate & Professional School Reference-Center |

Graduate & Professional
School Reference-Center, is a comprehensive reference center for
students desiring an advanced degree. The center includes several
reference books spanning a variety of subjects including law, business,
medicine, dentistry, science, education, psychology, and various
graduate and professional degree programs. Additionally, there are
resource books on fellowships, grants, scholarships, and other sources
of financial aid. Also, the center houses Peterson's Guides for Graduate
& Professional Study, which includes complete profiles on graduate and
professional degree programs offered in the United States and Canada.
There are a variety of software programs that are part of the reference
center, including the GRE Power Point and GMAT software. |

Graduate Scholars Program |
|
Graduate Scholars program is
a program that began in the Fall 2002 semester. The program is
designed to partner with universities under contractual agreement to
provide opportunities for students to transition into graduate degree
programs not available at Tennessee State University. In order to
Participate, students must have at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point
average, be a U.S. citizen, and be willing to travel and study at the
feeder institutions, if accepted. Feeder institutions may provide
tuition waivers, assistantships to qualified applicants.
