Mail:

  • Download Under-Graduate School Application (PDF)
  • Submit requested information at least 60 days prior to the beginning of the semester of enrollment
  • Application and $25.00 Application Processing Fee (Check or money order)
  • Official School transcript
  • Official ACT/SAT Test Scores. This is required if you are under 21
  • Submit official TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign language) scores.
  • Submit a Notarized Affidavit of support and bank statement. These documents must not be older than six (6) months prior to desired semester of enrollment. This the evidence of financial resources sufficient to provide tuition and fees for the academic year (minimum of $28,500 USD) and an affidavit of support
  • Also a copy of Graduate Assistantship and/or Scholarship , if received
  • Submit official transcripts from each educational institution and examination certificate (0 levels).
  • Proof of a current physical examination.
  • Copy of your current Passport
  • Submit copies of Visa and Alien Registration card (if you do not have this information please contact our office 615-963-5640)

Conditions ONLY for Undergraduate Students:

 

Freshmen over 21 must meet the following two requirements for admission:

Requirement 1
  • Tennessee Residents: 2.25 cumulative un-weighted GPA
  • Non-Tennessee Residents: 2.5 cumulative un-weighted GPA
  • GED Recipients must have passing scores in all categories
Requirement 2
  • If graduated from high school after 1989: 14 High Schools Units (4 Units of English, 1 Unit of Algebra I, 1 Unit of Algebra II, 1 Unit of Advanced Math, 1 Unit of Visual/Performing Arts, 1 Unit of Natural Science, 1 Unit of Natur5al Science Lab, 1 Unit of US History, 1 Unit of Social Studies, 2 Units of the Same Foreign Language) For a list of courses that satisfy individual unit requirements, click here.

 

Freshmen under 21 must meet the following three requirements for admission:

Requirement 1

  • Tennessee Residents: 2.25 cumulative un-weighted GPA or a 19 ACT/900 SAT (Verbal and Math Scores only)
  • Non-Tennessee Residents: 2.5 cumulative un-weighted GPA or a 19 ACT/900 SAT (Verbal and Math Scores only)

Requirement 2

  • Students who take the ACT: Sub-scores in English, Math, and Reading must be 13 or higher in 2 out of 3 of the subject areas
  • Students who take the SAT: must have

Requirement 3

Conditions ONLY for Transfer Students:Transfer Students must meet the following two requirements for admission

  • Must have a 2.0 Cumulative GPA from all colleges/ universities combined
  • All Transfer students who graduated from high school after 1989 and have not previously earned the equivalent of a bachelor degree must also submit an official copy of their high school transcript for high school unit purposes

Re-admit Students

Students who leave the University voluntarily and who do not enroll for courses during one or more regular semesters must submit an application for readmission to the university. Summer is not considered a regular semester in determining absence from the University.

Students who return to TSU after attending other colleges or universities must submit an application for readmission and transcripts from all institutions attended since leaving TSU. Applicants in this category need a grade point average equal to TSU‘s retention standards when all courses attempted from all colleges are combined.

  • You must submit official transcripts from any colleges/universities you attended after your last attendance at TSU.

Serving Together!

International Students

International students with superior scholastic records are considered for admission as freshmen and as transfer students. An applicant whose native language is not English is required to submit a test score of 500 as the minimum acceptance level of performance on the Test of English as a Foreign Language, (TOEFL) or 80% on The Michigan Test.

Students who have ACT/SAT-equivalent scores will be placed according to these scores. Students who have not had college-level English and/or Math must undergo COMPASS testing.

Applicant must:

  • Submit Admission Application and $25 application fee.
  • Submit requested information at least 60 days prior to the beginning of the semester of enrollment.
  • Submit official TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign language) scores.
  • Submit a Notarized Affidavit of support and bank statement. These documents must not be older than six (6) months prior to desired semester of enrollment
  • Submit official transcripts from each educational institution and examination certificate (0 levels).
  • Proof of a current physical examination.
  • Submit official transcripts from colleges/universities attended in the United States.
  • Submit copies of Visa and Alien Registration card
  • Take the ACT/SAT test.

 

If complete documents are not on filed by this deadline, the application will be considered for the next scheduled registration period. The application must be accompanied by a non-refundable fee of $25.
