Career Pathways Initiative

Committed to Improving Job Placement

Our Career Pathways program helps students to gain workforce experience and skills as they plan, prepare, and transition to college and careers.  The program also attempts to help students realize the connections between their career interests and corresponding educational plans.

Our Goal

The goal is that upon completion of a career pathway course sequence, students would be ready for an entry-level job in the career area or post-secondary education without a need for remediation.

About the Grant

Thirty colleges have been selected as planning grant awardees for  UNCF’s new Career Pathways Initiative (CPI) , a highly-competitive grant process open to four-year historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and predominantly black institutions (PBIs) to help students gain the knowledge, preparation, insight and skills needed for meaningful employment upon graduation.   View Details.
