SMART-SENS 2005 introduces a new ASME forum to address research issues in emerging wired and wireless embedded, distributed, networked sensors to manufacturing, military, transportation, medical, and space applications.   These smart sensors will revolutionize a wide spectrum of unprecedented prospective applications.   The goal of this forum is to present theoretical concepts and practical state-of-the-art applications of smart sensors in the topic areas described below:

   Interested authors are encouraged to contact co-organizers to express their intent to submit paper by January 15, 2004.  Papers must be submitted electronically in a pdf format as described in the conference web site before February 14, 2005.  All papers will be reviewed and, if accepted, will be published in the conference proceedings on CD-ROM.
