Why Recruit at TSU

Tennessee State University has a proud legacy of excellence, resilience and unity.   The University is committed to helping its students develop into intelligent, assiduous, global leaders who will be capable of making effective contributions to the workforce. We will accomplish this through our motto: Think Work Serve.   Our students are thinkers, workers, and servers.

TSU prepares students for leadership and service of local, national, and international communities in our global society. More than 75% our undergraduate students are involved in service learning projects whether it is constructed through the classroom or through respective student service and academic organizations. The University is named one of the Top 20 HBCUs in the nation by U.S. News and World Report and is named the number one university in the state by Washington Monthly for social mobility, top-notch research, and encouraging students to give back to their communities.

As Nashville's only public university, we hold national and international accreditations in specific colleges. We have students from at least 42 states and 45 countries who have chosen to attend TSU in order to further their education in 45 bachelor-degree programs, 24 masters programs and doctoral degrees in biological sciences, computer information systems, engineering, psychology, public administration, curriculum and instruction, educational administration and supervision, and physical therapy. We have 7 brick-and-mortar Colleges, On-Line Degree Programs, Research Programs, and one graduate school that will accommodate a myriad of academic areas and burgeoning careers.
