Student Motivation Task Force (SMTF)

March 26-28, 2007
ADMINISTRATORS, DEANS, DEPARTMENT HEADS,
AND FACULTY

Please mark your calendars for the annual Student Motivation Task Force (SMTF) visitation on campus March 26-28, 2007. Many of you participated in the Fall 06 SMTF opportunity, which was outstanding! SMTF was scheduled in the Fall as a collaborative effort with Homecoming/President’s Inauguration activities. We ask that you allow the consultants at least 45-50 minutes to speak with your students. The consultants will represent a variety of career opportunities and will inform the students of the latest information needed to become successful in the world-of-work.

We are again requesting your support and participation in permitting alumni and corporate executives to come into your classroom (during the above time frame), to interact with your students. Many of you have participated in this on-campus activity for several years. We look forward to your continued support and your assistance in encouraging your colleagues to share in this experience--which is necessary for our students’ overall career development. Your usual cooperation is appreciated in permitting consultants to conduct classroom presentations and networking opportunities in one or more of your classes.

For your convenience, we are attaching a Class Assignment Form at:
http://www.tnstate.edu/careers/SMTF_assignment_form.htm
to be completed on-line (or you may make a copy and return to our office) by March 10, 2007. This date allows adequate planning, assignment, and notification to consultants and faculty.
