Alumni and Friends, mark your calendar for the year 2012 when Tennessee State University prepares to celebrate 100 years of shaping brilliant young minds.   Since June 19, 1912 when the doors first opened at Tennessee Agricultural and Industrial State Normal School for Negros, the institution has evolved into one of the premier Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU's) due to the vision, service and sacrifices of its forefathers.  As stakeholders, it is our duty to continue advancing the legacy our ancestors entrusted to us.

In honor of that legacy, the Office of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving and the National Alumni Association has joined forces by supporting one goal and one campaign - "2012 Change for Change."  Over the next 3 years, we are asking ALL alumni and friends to make a monthly gift of $20.12, or more.  Our goal is to raise $1.5 million annually to help increase student enrollment and retention.  If every stakeholder participates in this effort, it would mean $4.5 million in funds to help students stay in school.  What an enormous impact we could make my pooling our resources TOGETHER.  You can make a difference!

Today we appeal to you to click on the "Make a Gift" link above and support the 2012 Change for Change campaign.  Please note you can designate your gift to specific programs such as the band, athletics, business administration, engineering and so on.  Together we can transform the nation one student at a time.
