Current Responsibilities:
•Serves as senior advisor to University officials in the development and implementation of comprehensive recruitment programs designed to encourage students to enroll in courses of study in agriculture or related fields.
•Provide and identify opportunities to assist university staff in developing new or needed agriculture, natural resource or related curricula.
•Mentor students to enable them to successfully complete degree requirements in agricultural sciences and related disciplines.
•Advises the university concerning the availability of research or educational grants to improve the quality of agriculture-related curricula.
•Implement the 1890 National Scholars Program at the university
•Facilitate and coordinate the placement of students in temporary, permanent and summer internship positions in USDA.
•Provides periodic briefings to the 1890 President’s Task Force as well as community and Departmental Officials on issues, trends and accomplishment as it relates to students and USDA.
•Coordinate activities between USDA agencies and the local agricultural community.

•In 1996, “for significant outreach efforts to the Limited Resource Farmers in the Tensas River Basin”. It was noted that this was the first time for some of the Limited Resource Farmers to ever participant in an USDA cost-share program.
•In 1995, “for accomplishment with the Tensas River Basin Ecosystem Based Assistance (EBA) Pilot Project”, which resulted into the development of a high quality plan of work for the EBA pilot project with very little guidance from the NRCS National Headquarter (NHQ).
