My specialties are in the fields of sports broadcasting, television reporting, and broadcast writing. I am also active in the Broadcast Education Association (BEA), serving as a charter member of the Sports Division and as a coordinator/judge of student sports entries for the annual BEA Festival of the Arts.

Professional career: I worked in television and radio for 15 years, as a TV videographer/reporter/producer in Shreveport, LA; Houston, TX; and Denton, TX: a radio announcer in Shreveport and Fayetteville, AR; and a baseball play-by-play broadcaster for a minor league baseball team in Shreveport, where I also produced videos and commercials for a production company. I won twelve broadcasting awards from various organizations in Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas, from 1982 to 1994.
